Grouping Audit & Thorough Testing and Needs Analysis
The afore mentioned components for testing have been developed as individual components to allow RLC and its testers the ability to mix and match these components to compile the most appropriate and effective testing process for each case and individual. From experience we can define two different approaches to testing and needs analysis.
- Grouping audit – this always consists of the speaking test (oral interview of 20 to 30 minutes) either face to face or over the telephone and in some cases either the structure test or the listening test.
- Thorough testing and needs analysis – this always consists of an extended speaking test (oral interview of 60 minutes plus) face to face and in some cases one or more of the other components. The most common reasons for more thorough testing include:
- A focus on writing skills
- Recruitment interviews (and assessment of interviewees)
- Preparation for examination courses
- High level/demanding needs
- English for Specific Purposes
- Communication skills/business skills training
