International Communication – can you get by?
We increasingly have to make our influence felt across national boundaries – expertise is no longer enough if you lack the communication skills to persuade others of its value.
We need to enter into how others view the world and understand how to communicate with them to get our ideas truly appreciated and accepted.
Where do we start?
Even as a native speaker, do we use the language effectively to achieve the goal of influencing and persuading our listeners? Can we influence colleagues from other cultures in their work - presenting to them, participating in meetings, leading, chairing meetings, working in international (more often, virtual) teams?
Training is the answer!
But where to start?
Do I start with my language skills? For instance, is my vocabulary broad enough to get my message across? Is my understanding high enough to allow me to understand what has been said by others and respond in the correct way?
Or can I use the language skills I have in a better way?
What about the listeners or target group for my message? How can I serve their needs?
A holistic solution is needed. You do not need to pick one area of focus; instead you need a solution that takes all areas into account and an expert who can deliver it. Richard Lewis Communications does exactly this with each and every client from an organisational and individual perspective.
The immersion concept course at our UK residential centre, Riversdown House, can help you in a simple, passionate and results-driven way.
