Richard D. Lewis won the SIETAR Founders Award

SIETAR is the Society for Intercultural Education, Training And Research – the foremost authority in Cross-cultural education.

On Friday 18th October, the SIETAR Founders Awards committee granted the 2015 Founders Award to Richard D. Lewis, Chairman of Richard Lewis Communications.  This award, with its citation “Making a World of Difference,” is granted to an individual who has demonstrated outstanding commitment and service to the intercultural field.  Requirements are:  publication of books, papers and articles; delivery of workshops and seminars with an international focus; keynote addresses, conference presentations, plenary sessions; an established record of mentoring new interculturalists; service on boards and taskforces of organisations that focus on intercultural issues; services within colleges and universities; teaching of intercultural subjects in degree and/or certificate programmes; exemplifying the highest standards of intercultural thought and practice; demonstration of understanding, respect for and valuing of cultural differences; interacting routinely with members of diverse cultures and regularly serving as a cultural bridge between diverse individuals or groups to foster intercultural dialogue and understanding.
